"You can never rely on a horse that is educated by fear. There will always be something that he fears more than you. But when he trusts you, he will ask you what to do when he is afraid."
GET TO KNOW ARIEL
Owner and trainer of Stone Brook Equine. I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician and a Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist.
As a young girl, I was always at the barn and riding horses. In high school and college I was very competitive in the horse show world. I had many high accomplishments including Reserve World Champion as well as many State Champion titles in numerous different events.
While at college I became a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I worked with large and small animals. Later in life I knew I needed to do more to help heal horses and improve their quality of life so I decided to get certified as an equine sports massage therapist and specialize in rehabilitation.
After leaving the show world, I was introduced to liberty training. This type of training goes hand in hand with the bodywork therapy and rehabilitation that I do.
ABOUT STONE BROOK EQUINE
Stone Brook Equine is a small training barn that specializes in teaching horses to move and use their bodies correctly through liberty training. This type of training uses body language and energy to communicate with the horse. I have always strongly believed that force should not be used while training horses. All this does is create fear, and fear training is unacceptable. I am proud to soon offer my training through online courses!
Stone Brook Equine also travels for bodywork sessions. Sessions include massage therapy, kinesiology taping, and rehabilitation exercises/routines if needed.
